my favorite poem2
And when Jung Mong-ju ws going back his house, he was killed by someone. And then, Goryo was disappeared and new country, Choesoen was founded by the person who made up the poem ‘What if’.
In Korea, These poems are so famous and most of people like these poems as well as me. The reason i like these poems is three. One is these poems are so impressed. When I read these poems for the first time, i was only 10 years old. Although i was young and i didn't know Korean historic well, i couldn't but love these poems. Through these poems, i could know seriousness of that time and their personality well. Especailly, i could know Jung Mong-ju's fierce loyalty and the part of his mind used for country. So Jung mong-ju's poem is very touching and moved. and if you know he would be killed by rival, it will makes you more sad and impressed. That is why i like Jung's poem more and first one. Another reason is it always makes me think. When i read these, i always think 'if i was Jung Mong-ju, what did i do?' Actually, my answer is always changed whenever i read these but usually i prefer to join to other ministers who wanted to found new country. Because the country, Goryo, already had economic decay and allegations of bribery and corruption were frequent. So it was so hard to revive economics. Therefore if Jung was me, i preferred to join to them. The other one is that it is like a song. Because it has only a few letter and it is rhythmical so it is easy to remember and sing.
If you are interested in asian history especially Korea, you need to read these poems. Because in Chinese history, they also have many these kind of casts. Through These poem, you will be able to experience asian people's life of that time indirectly and maybe you will they to think 'what will you do if you are in this situation'.
