RE:Is it desirable to many subjects

Some people may argue that it is more recommendable to concentrate on one subject rather than to take many subjects. I, however, am against the idea that focusing on one subject is more helpful to students in many ways. This is because experiencing many areas is conducive to decide an individual’s career, and because it will be able to help students to gain more various experiences, enriching a person’s life.

First of all, it is more beneficial for students to try to study as many subjects as possible. What I mean is that, a list enabling an individual to choose his career will be widen by going through a variety of domains. Generally speaking, a multitude of students enter colleges without knowledge of their major. It would give rise to high possibility that their major might not be apt to their aptitude. By taking various classes, students are able to figure out which my favored fields are. Furthermore, they even can find their own strengths, weaknesses and talents. Let me take my own experience as an example, I chose a double-degree program, which specialized in international trade and business, in my college in search of a well-paid job. Unlike my expectation, international trade and business did not fit to my aptitude well. Fortunately, at the same time I was taking classes for my minor, which is international relations, and I felt fascinated in my minor. Eventually, I decided to go to a graduation school educating international affairs in place of finding a job regarding international trade. This implies that trial and error can be a guideline to find a person’s true aptitude.

In addition, getting experience from many areas catalyzes more colorful life. Namely, universities offer many courses which students can take advantage of. However, there are time and financial constraints that will not allow students to experience all the areas off-campus life. What is worse, after graduation people have to work during the day and lack time to broaden their perspective, and if possible, it requires much stamina than when they were in school. Colleges provide students with a lot of areas such as nature science, humanity, art, and even sports, and these are benefits that help students to can obtain a widened point of view, manifold hobbies, and good interpersonal skills needed in society. To illustrate; Steve jobs who was a former Apple CEO, took a class of chirography in his college life. Later, this played a crucial role in inventing his Mac computer in terms of designing letter from. This indicates that a trivial learning can be an indispensable asset for people in the future. Therefore, people will live more fulfilling lives given that there are a number of life experiences.

To sum up, Not only does taking many subjects play essential role in determining a person’s job, but it also can be good ingredients for colorful life. All things considered, I am in favor of idea that people should learn as many subjects as possible when in school.
