RE:ban on using cell phone in public transit?
It is often said that using cell phones on
public transportation should be banned. However, when it comes to the statement
that people can use their phones whenever they want to, I strongly agree. This
is because cell phones can be useful in emergency situations, and because cell
phones can help people communicate with friends and family during a busy day.
One reason is that mobile devices are
beneficial gadgets in emergency circumstances. To put it another way, when
someone is having a heart attack or seizure, it is important for him or her to
get help quickly. If it were not for phones to make a call in that case, there
could be some loss of people’s life. Otherwise, people can be put in a situation
when important calls income to their cell phones. For one thing, yearly
statistics recently published by Korea Subway Safety Association revealed
significant facts. The statistics showed that death tolls on subways in Korea
reached 30 in last year, and accidents related to alcohol were up to 1020, the
amount of injuries caused by carelessness were 573. This implies that fatal
incidents can occur anytime even using public transportation. Either outgoing
calls or incoming calls that are crucial make people cope with situations at
the time appropriately.
On top of that, people interact with their
acquaintances in hectic life through mobile devices. To explain, most people
work incredibly long hours, so time spent on the public transit is good for
talking on a cell phone. People in contemporary society do not have enough time
to socialize owing to their study or work. Spare time can be created while they
go from one place to another place. Public transit is where leisure time
happens. By communicate other people through mobile devices, they are able to
manage their stress well in public transit. To illustrate; a public opinion
poll conducted by Research Institute of Korea Public Transit Culture showed
that 70 percent of citizen agree with using cell phones in public
transportation, on the other hand, 30 percent of people dissent from allowing
people to use their mobile phones in public transit. The indication of this
poll is that majority of people are not against capitalizing phones when using
public transit. For this reason, employing mobile phones can help to make life
of citizens who use public transportation more colorful and fulfilling.
To encapsulate; not only can cell phones be
utilized in emergency situations, but it can also help people interact with
friends and family in their busy life. All things considered, I agree with the
statement that using cell phones in public transportation should be allowed to
people.
